### Add more fields to the RSS output

I'd like to see more fields in the RSS output, specifically an author
indication and a comments link. These would be useful for blogging,
especially on aggregator sites like http://planet.debian.org. I think maybe
the meta plugin can be used to set the author field, though I haven't tried
it, but in my opinion a better way would be to have the author taken from
the user name who created the page (either from the svn commit or from the
user name in the web commit). Maybe there are issues with this though.

> Yes, the meta plugin will add fields if author meta-info is speficied.
> To get author info from commits it would need to store it in the index file,
> similarly to how pagectime is stored. Doable.

I'd also like to see a comments field added with a link to the discussion
page so that comments can be made there. One thing I'm not sure how to deal
with is the way the discussion page link changes after it has been created.
There would need to be some way of specifying to ikiwiki.cgi to create the
page if it doesn't exist, or to just edit the page if it does.
Alternatively, the discussion pages could be automatically created when a
new blog post is created, and then the edit link would work fine.

> I would really like for some additional TMP variables to be present in the rss template as well. For the inline page template, the CTIME TMPL_VAR results in nice phrases like: Posted late Tuesday morning, November 13th, 2007, and it would be neat to let the planet Debian people see that as well :-) Manoj
